WHO DAT!! Go Saints!

My husband and I had the exciting privilege of attending the Saints pre-season opener at home this past weekend and it was an experience! This city LOVES their Saints and I can understand why. When we arrived at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome you could just see the area around the dome oozing with excitement. Everyone dressed is black and gold from head to toe and completely submerged in their team. My husband and I were both dressed in full SAINTS gear and felt right at home. I love the way this city really comes together to fully support and embrace their own. Many aromas accompanied us from buttered popcorn, to nachos, and even red beans and rice filled the stadium throughout the game. I must say, this city is spicy, and I love it! WHO DAT!

All decked out in my Saints gear!

 Incredible Superdome!

Right as Rain!

Like I’ve said before, rain is one of my all time favorite parts of nature. There is something so soothing and relaxing about the appearance as well as the sound of rain. This weekend was my first weekend to work, but I still got to enjoy some moments at home while it poured on our sweet cottage. When I was younger, my dad and I would put on our rain gear and walk through our sleepy subdivision in Mississippi. If I would have had time, I would have done that this weekend too and reminisced about those wonderful memories! It’s funny how moments that seem so simple at the time can be some of the most valuable and memorable. Here are some of the moments that captured my attention while the rain soothed this city!

The view down our sleepy street as it rains

Rain dripping on the flowers out front

Fresh Butterscotch Haystacks for my sweet husband

Letters to our family back home. Sometimes its fun to get "snail mail" in such an "email" day in time

Soothing Lavender candle that reminds us to relax and take each day as it comes

No rainy day is complete without some assorted chocolates

Reminiscing about our wedding day a little over a year ago

Sometimes the "little" things, turn out to be the "big" things in life! Thanks for reading!

These are a few of my favorite things!

I guess when it comes to life, it is always good to find ways to relax and really enjoy each day to the fullest. Even though we are truly enjoying our time in New Orleans, this city is fully equipped with its own bundle of stressors for us. With Barry fully amerced in his orthodontic program and me working full time as a physical therapist, we have quite a few ups and downs throughout each week. Here are some of our favorite ways to handle our everyday “hiccups” and really embrace our time here together!

Swinging on our front porch watching the cars drive by and listening to the families chat as they stroll along the sidewalks.

Tending to our flowers and getting lost in the aromas and colors that accompany them.

Going on evening walks around our area dreaming about our future “dream home”.

Spending time with our new Persian kitten, Tucker, given to us by my parents to keep us company while in New Orleans!

Life is what you make it, and we choose to find peace and comfort in the little things :)
